Animal owners, please beware of these foxtails and cheat grass that grow wild in Colorado. These pesky foxtails can pierce an animals skin and work its way into the animal's bloodstream and can result in serious infection, blood vessel blockage, loss of limbs, or death.
Keep your yards and pastures well trimmed and get in the habit of checking your animal's paws and legs. Have your vet check any sores that are not healing and mention the presence of foxtails/cheat grass in your yard.
