Educating the community - First Bank

First Bank Volunteers Make a Difference at Our Animal Sanctuary

Today we had the privilege to host an amazing set of volunteers, including a group from First Bank.

Here you see our amazing volunteers from First Bank putting in the hard work to keep our sanctuary clean and animals happy!

The group is all ears listening to one of our frequent volunteers, Garrett, as they learn how to lead the llamas for their walk!

The whole group strolling down the road in front of the rescue, even the goats tagged along!

Thank You From Hercules

Thank You From Hercules

On Saturday night, we walked out to do night feed and noticed Hercules was in major distress.
We quickly decided to make an emergency vet call to the Littleton Equine Medical Center.
There was a quick response to our call as the attending veterinarian Chevalier made the haul all the way from Littleton to the animal rescue, even after hours.
They where able to treat Hercules expertly and gave us what instructions we needed to do to nurse Hercules back to health.

Today we are happy to report that Hercules is doing much better, and is eating well!

Thank you to the Littleton Equine Medical Center and to Chevalier for coming out to Edwards so late
and providing care to Hercules so fast and expertly.

Emergency, after hour, vet bills like this are costly. If you would like to donate and help us continue to provide the necessary care for these animals, click HERE or the link below.

Everything helps, Thank you.

Education

 Education

At Edwards Animals we like to focus on education. This is one of the many things that we focus on. When you come to volunteer at Edwards we make sure that you are getting a good education on animals and animal care.

Here is Lena reading our paper on the medicine that we give our animals. This is very important because we do not want to miss a step. Thank you Lena!

Eli thought this sign was just so funny. All volunteers know that we have to wash our hands before we deal with animals, and of course afterwards!

Rubi was showing some of our other volunteers how we feed the animals. All of our animals eat hay.

This is Sarah giving our animals grain. They can only receive so much, so before she started filling up their bins, she had to read how much to give them.

Fall Fundraising

 Fall Fundraising

A big thank you to everyone who came to last Saturday's open house and to Elie for giving an amazing demonstration on roping!

This open house stands as a fantastic kickoff to our Fall Fundraising Campaign.
With this campaign we hope to fund:

1) Repairs on the barn's water system

2) Various vet bills (such as medicine for Hercules's eye infection)

3) Refill our stock of hay and feed for the fall

Rubi and Eli are getting ready to greet the volunteers. These two ladies are wonderful and so helpful. Thank you Rubi and Eli!

Henry was an excellent help! He was very busy moving things around on the farm.

Thank you to Ann, who organized this successful fundraiser! Edwards could not have done it without you.

If you would like to donate and help us reach our goals, you can do so here!
