Whether it is in celebration of Easter or the arrival of Spring, this time of year hundreds of thousands of bunnies and chicks are purchased as pets. Sadly, once the bunnies grow up to be rabbits, and the chicks become full grown chickens, the majority of these animals end up in animal shelters where many face certain euthanasia, or they are simply let loose to fend for themselves in the wild where few survive.
As with any animal you bring into your home, please consider the committment needed to provide a lasting and loving home for your furry, feathered, hooved, finned, or scaly companion. Each year millions of healthy, loving, animals are euthanized for lack of a good home. Please do your research before bringing home a companion animal, and please consider adopting from your local shelter or rescue group.
